FAQs

What is a Postnatal Reset Call?

A Postnatal Reset Call is a gentle 60-minute online support session designed to help you feel heard, supported and less alone during the postnatal period. Together we can talk through whatever feels most important to you, whether that's adjusting to motherhood, emotional wellbeing, feeding concerns, confidence, relationships or simply the realities of life with a new baby.

Who are Postnatal Reset Calls for?

These sessions are for mums in the weeks and months after birth who would benefit from additional emotional and practical support.

You do not need to be experiencing a crisis to book a session. Many mums simply appreciate having a safe, non-judgemental space to talk honestly about how they are feeling.

How do sessions take place?

Sessions take place online via Zoom, allowing you to join from the comfort of your own home.

Babies are always welcome to be part of the session. Feeding, cuddling and tending to your baby's needs are all completely normal and expected.

How long is a session?

Each Postnatal Reset Call lasts approximately 60 minutes. If you need space for feeding or tending to your baby, or simply for a break, we can make it work.

What kinds of things can we talk about?

Every session is tailored to your needs, but common topics include:

  • emotional wellbeing

  • adjusting to motherhood

  • confidence and self-esteem

  • birth reflections

  • feeding challenges

  • relationships

  • support networks

  • feeling overwhelmed or isolated

  • balancing the needs of family life

Is this therapy or counselling?

No.

Postnatal Reset Calls offer emotional and practical support, but they are not a replacement for therapy, counselling, medical advice or mental health treatment.

If additional support is needed, I can help signpost you to appropriate services.

How do I book?

Simply get in touch using the contact form or send a message through social media and I'll be happy to arrange a suitable time.  You can also book directly through the link on my website.

Can I book a session as a gift for someone else?

Yes.

If you know a new mum who would benefit from additional support, please get in touch to discuss gift bookings or purchase a gift card in my 'store'.

How soon after birth can I book?

There is no right or wrong time.

Some mums book during the first few weeks after birth, while others seek support several months later as they navigate the ongoing adjustments of motherhood.

Do I need to prepare anything beforehand?

No preparation is necessary.

You may find it helpful to think about what feels most challenging right now, but the session will follow your needs and priorities.

What if I feel silly booking support?

Many mums worry that they aren't struggling "enough" to ask for support. You do not need to wait until you're at breaking point. If you're feeling overwhelmed, isolated, anxious or simply in need of someone to talk to, you're welcome to reach out.

What makes Hopeful Beginnings different?

My approach combines professional postnatal doula training with years of supporting people through significant life experiences. I believe that alongside practical support, mums deserve kindness, reassurance and a space where they can be completely honest about how they are feeling. My goal is not to tell you how to parent, but to help you feel supported as you find your own way.
